A Brief Company History:

At the start of 2005, two of the best known names in the Australian tyre retailing business and associated services, joined forces to become a major power.

With the merger, the new company, now known as JAXQuickfit Tyres, aims to build on its combined reputation to become the most respected and professionally managed automotive service provider in Australia

JAX Tyres was established in 1949 and after 50 years, has now become a major player in the Australian automotive business. Initially involved in retailing from a single site, the company has grown its presence into three states in Australia and expanded its role from tyre retailing to include general automotive servicing.

Quick Fit Tyre Service was founded in 1995 and quickly created a strong presence in Queensland, with a subsequent expansion into Victoria.

Combined with JAX’s excellent market coverage in NSW, the new company now has a network of stores of more than 70 outlets so as to be able to reach a broader customer base from Cairns to Tasmania.

By offering a balanced product mix, combined with a network of strategically positioned outlets and a depth of experienced and motivated personnel, JAXQuickfit Tyres has a strategic goal to establish itself, as the most respected and professionally managed tyre & mechanical house in Australia.

JAXQuickfit Tyres, Caulfield South

More than a decade in the tyre business including a number of years as a JAXQuickfit Store Manager has prepared Nathan Jones well for the opening of the new Caulfield South (Victoria) outlet.

Further expanding the JAXQuickfit Victorian store network, the new Caulfield South outlet offers a large selection of major tyre brands and a huge range of wheels, together with brake, suspension and mechanical servicing, and nitrogen fill.

Like many of the JAXQuickfit Managerial team, Nathan Jones began his tyre industry career on the shop floor as a tyre fitter and worked his way up the ranks through a succession of stores in Clayton, Frankston, Albury-Wodonga and Canberra, before returning to his native Melbourne.

The Hawthorn Road store also features brand-new state-of-the-art computerised tyre fitment and wheel alignment equipment, utilised by a dedicated and highly-experienced staff of industry professionals.

"What sets our business apart is our customer service … our philosophy is to under promise and over deliver, so that customers leave us having had a very positive experience," Nathan Jones said.

"At the end of the day, buying wheels or tyres should be a straight forward and enjoyable experience … that's my commitment to the business and our customers."

Jones says the new Caulfield South store is typically suburban in its product scope.

"We're concentrating on the mums and dads … giving them a choice of the right product at the right price, backed up by great service; we see demand primarily for passenger car tyres, light-duty four-wheel-drive tyres and a bit of light truck stuff, for the delivery van market.

"Being a slightly older area there's less demand for performance products than in some regions but we carry the full range of gear nonetheless, to service the enthusiasts local to us," Jones says.

Away from JAXQuickfit Caulfield South, Nathan Jones spends any spare time with wife Emily and their pair of much loved beagles.
